Our helicopter charter services in action
From VIP charters for F1 races to charity and cargo missions, we’ve collated helicopter charters that demonstrate our team’s versatility and unrivalled customer service.
Offering point-to-point travel and access to more remote locations, helicopter charters are one of the most flexible ways to fly. This makes them ideal for business or leisure transfers to sporting events, yachts, ski resorts and even rooftops, while they can also be used for emergency purposes when no other form of aircraft will do.
With over 30 years’ experience and a global network of offices, we’ve arranged countless helicopter charters for clients all over the world. From F1 races to charity missions, here are some examples that demonstrate our versatility and unrivalled customer service.
We strive to make every charter special and this is exactly what we did for a group touring Switzerland. The party wanted to end the trip on a high by chartering a helicopter to their final destination, but there were none in the region large enough to fit them all on board.
Our team offered two alternatives: two large helicopters or three smaller ones. The customer chose the latter option and asked us to ensure the group still felt like they were travelling together, so we arranged for the helicopters to arrive in convoy across the waters of Lake Geneva so they could take some great photographs. The trip took only 35 minutes, instead of three hours on the train, ensuring the group’s time was well spent enjoying the slopes.

We organise helicopter charters to sporting events around the world, often at the last minute due to customers’ busy schedules. In 2022, we were contacted by a pilot who was flying a property developer from the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne to New Zealand and needed to arrange a helicopter transfer at short notice from the race to Essendon Airport.
Availability was limited, but our team used their local connections and contacted an operator we’ve worked with for years, who could accommodate the four passengers on their Eurocopter AS350B Écureuil. Our quick thinking and experience in the helicopter market meant we found a solution within three hours of receiving this last-minute request.

Most of our helicopter charters involve transporting customers from A to B, but our team is always ready to think outside the box when needed.
In April 2022, Hollywood Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts asked us to arrange a helicopter charter for a children’s Easter egg hunt. The aircraft was needed to fly over a local football field on Palm Sunday, dropping chocolate eggs and marshmallows for the children to collect. With limited availability of local helicopters, we sprung into action and quickly secured a Bell 206 for this time-sensitive request.

Helicopters can whisk you to and from the airport in double-quick time without being delayed by traffic on the roads. In 2022, a retail executive holidaying in South Africa had this in mind when they asked us to arrange a helicopter transfer from their resort to board a commercial flight at Durban Airport and back again when they returned the next day.
One benefit of chartering with ACS is that we offer several options best suited to each customer’s requirements. On this occasion, we sourced four available helicopters and the client opted for a cost-effective Bell 206 B-2 JetRanger. Even with the finer details arranged and the charter booked, our team didn’t stop there and also arranged onboard refreshments.

Some helicopter charters don’t pick up passengers at all! In late 2012, we were asked to retrieve a Sea King helicopter that was stranded on top of a mountain in the Arctic Circle. A heavy landing had damaged the aircraft’s undercarriage, making it unsafe to fly back to base.
A Sea King weighs around 6.5 tonnes, so we quickly decided the best way to move it was by chartering an even larger helicopter. We sourced the nearest Mil 26, which is the world’s largest and most powerful series-produced helicopter and can lift over 20 tonnes. Our team’s careful planning paid off, resulting in a smooth operation that only lasted one hour in total.
